This Research Center is dedicated to Scientific Research and Engineering Research. It owes its name to Prof. Velez Grilo given his high level as a University Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto and his participation in high-profile engineering projects, such as in the design and execution of the Arrábida Bridge in Porto, in collaboration with Prof. Edgar Cardoso.

Regarding the fact that Science can help Humanity to evolve positively, there is an interesting phrase from Pasteur: "Little Science draws people away from God, but Much Science draws people closer to God"!
