This Research Center, dedicated to Scientific Research and Engineering Research, owes its name to Prof. Velez Grilo given his high level as a University Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto and his participation in high-profile engineering projects, such as in the design and execution of the Arrábida Bridge in Porto, in collaboration with Prof. Edgar Cardoso.
